Beat poetry, like all other poetry (in my opinion) is the stuff of passion and imagination, no matter what the topic.
If it makes you sweat/cry/swoon/gag/whatever .... then it is working.
If you react, it's got you.
Once it's got you, you're got for good.
Gotta love it!
