A Conversation for Doors

Mind of their own

I've noticed that when you want to be totally anonymous and invisible doors won't let you be so.

Standing in a queue near the sensor of an automatic door the mere act of breathing or blinking can make the door violently swing open with a whoosh, brrrr, shoosh as it swings open, vibrates at the most open state and then closes again without anyone having passed through.

I think the only benefit of these doors is that when you eventually become the person next to the person nearest to the door you can offer sympathetic shrugs to the new victim and have a feeling of empathy which we rarely get to share.
