Canaries - cause

Post 1

This is a thorough and informative entry. Thank you!

I'd like to suggest one small correction. The yellow-skinned "canaries" got their colour from loading shells with an explosive called "Lyddite" (a derivative of picric acid). TNT does not cause skin discolouration.

50/percent of world population is women so all that brain power manual ,technical moral support can be donated by women and basically women can do a man"s work but men cant do a woman"s in desparation a woman is abused and forced into prostitution but then also she is an honest deliverer of goods

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

It'a a great shame that the link to a brilliant clip of a 'Canary' has been deleted - the Imperial War Museum collections on-line obviously changes from time to time http://www.iwmcollections.org.uk/ - there was a lovely sparky woman telling of her experience.

There's a good link to war workers here:

Some fascinating stuff, but not the lovely 'Canary' clip as far as I can see.

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

There's another good link to civilians in the wars here: http://www.iwmcollections.org.uk/civilians/essay.asp .

Looks as though you might have to go to the Imperial War Museum to watch and listen to the testimonies, though.
