Since the bridge is one-third scale and made of wood rather than stone, is it any kind of real(ish) test of Da Vinci's design?

That is a fascinating story. But looking at the way the bridge curves, I do find it amazing that such a thing should be possible to build in stone. I guess they would perhaps need to be interlocking, instead of the usual with lots of square ones.
