h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

This was left out of the Exmouth entry, so I thought I'd add it.

Exmouth holds a very large and incestial (if that is a word) new year's eve party - fancy dress, in temperatures of up to 0 degrees c. As the clocks strike midnight, you find the nearest member of the opposite sex and snog for 5 minutes. Then you open your eyes, see what they look like, and run away screaming. I last took part in this about 2&1/2 years ago, and the only advice I have for you all is: only go if you are
a) under 21 and
b)single and
c)going to drink so much you can't feel the cold.

As I am now over 21 I will never be there on New Year's Eve again. Well, not at the Deer Leap on the esplanade, anyway.....

This person knows EXACTLY what they are talking about, and then some. Exmouth is a fantastic place for new years eve but just before midnight it is important that you check the ID of every member of the opposite sex who is is the vicinity and make sure you have booked a taxi three years in advance!
