I've never thought that single haikus amount to much in English, but you can string them together to form more effective poems.
BRIGHTON
Houses slide down hills
like collapsing packs of cards
towards the hunched town.
Light intensifies
skies shrug off their confinement
setting free the sun.
The town surprises:
shops selling junk or old books
by grand terraces.
All roads meet their end
at the grey, ever-present
indifferent sea.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
