The Watchers Council: These are a council of individuals based in London who assign Watchers to each potential Slayer. The extent of their power is never really clearly explained. They do seem to try and make life as difficult as possible for the Slayer and on her 18th birthday order Giles to inject her with a substance that takes away her Slayer strength.
Occasionally though, they do come up with useful information, such as informing Buffy and the Scoobies that Glory is a God. However, they do not give up any information easily and are more of a hinderance than a help. During a meeting at the headquaters during the final season, every Watcher meets a messy end when the building they are in blows up!

Professor Maggie Walsh: First introduced as a psychology professor in the fourth season, Maggie seemed pretty normal. This is until we discover that she works, secretly, for the Government, capturing, testing on and "rehabilitating" vampires and demons. She is involved in a much more sinister project, to build a human/demon hybrid. Maggie runs her Initiative and her classroom with an iron rod and takes no nonsense from anyone. Some may call her heartless.
She also loves her behaviour modifying chips, implanting one in Spike and one in her lead commando, Riley. When Buffy gets too close to the 314 project, Maggie sends her on a one-way mission, from which she returns. Shortly after this, Maggie is working on Adam when he awakens and kills her. Although she never really stays dead for too long, as Adam re-animates her so she can work on his plan to make a race of human/demon hybrids.

The Initiative: Government run operation, the operatives were plucked from various parts of the Army to train in demon hunting. Members of the Initiative are almost double agents, in the day, they appear to be regular guys with jobs/studies and its only by night that they hunt demons. Some of the squad have had chips implanted in their heads to control their behaviour and they secretly receive medication in their food to make them stronger and faster than usual. As the don't know they get this, prolonged time away from the Initiative is dangerous for their health and makes them incredibly sick.
Like most ,ilitary units, the 'commandos' are loyal to each other until the very end and rarely question the motive behind each mission they are sent on. Less 'Bad Guy' than misguided!

Faith: In the beginning, Faith was nothing more than a feisty Slayer, working to rid the world of vampires and demons. It's only after she accidently took a human life that she really flipped out. Unable to deal with her feelings and the pressure she was under from Buffy and the Scoobies, Faith turned to the dark side. She went to work for the Mayor, doing most of his dirty work after she killed Mr. Trick. While fighting Buffy, she was stabbed with her own knife, fell off a building and ended up in a coma.
She remained in hospital for 6 months before awakening. Rested and with revenge on her mind, Faith went in search of Buffy and cast a spell so they could switch bodies. Only while she was in Buffy's body did she finally understand what real love and acceptance were. On switching back, she left Sunnydale, presumedly to re-evaluate her life.
In the final season Faith returns once more and, although things are difficult, she, Buffy and the other Slayers work through their issues and defeat the first!

The Knights of Byzantium: The knights were a large army of men, led by a general and sent to rid the world of the mystical key, this was their lot in life, to hunt down and destroy the key, therefore destroying the way home for Glory.

The Trio:Warren-The unofficial leader of the Trio, who's expertise was in the field of building robots, however in an attempt to kill Buffy he missed and instead killed Tara, this caused Willow to go all black eyed girl and when she finally caught up with him, to use a Anya quote, 'she killed him and blooded up the forest doing it'.

Jonathan-Was known to the Slayer and the Scoobies well before he became a member of the Trio, his particular skill was magycks, however he met an untimely death at the hands of his friend Andrew, who was conned by the First (In the guise of Warren), that killing him would help to stop the First.

Andrew-Tucker's brother, the Hell Hound guy. His particular skill was raising demons. After he killed Jonathan and was captured by Willow, he started on a mission of redemption, helping the Scoobies with much needed planning and general entertainment, joining in the final battle to stop the First.

Willy the snitch:
Willy was the owner of the local demon bar and on occasion gave valuable imformation to the Slayer, not without a little persuasion by the Slayer and her gang, however he was also known to work on the side of the bad guys as well, it generally depended on who had the most money, or hardest punch.

Caleb:The First's right hand man, he was responsible for the explosion which destroyed the Watchers council, the death of a couple of the potentials and the loss of Xander's eye, he was endowed with power that he received by joining with the First. He was finally killed, when Buffy fought him and split him in half.

The Bringers: The minions of the First, they had strange burnt in signs where their eyes should have been, they were sent by The First and Caleb to destroy the Watchers council and as many potential Slayers as possible, they all died in the final battle to destroy the First and it's army.

Gwendolyn Post:Formerly a member of the Watchers council, she was kicked out for misusing dark powers. She appeared in Sunnydale pretending to be Faith's new watcher, however she had darker plans, she sought the glove of Myhnegon, which endowed the wearer with magic powers. She was finally killed by Buffy, when she severed her arm off, which caused a feedback of the magycks, destroying Mrs. Post
