BeOS 5 Personal Edition is now available from www.freebe.com. It's great but has no development tools. This, i reckon, is a bad move from Be. I have to buy BeOS 5 in order to develop stuff for it.
Speaking of BeOS 5, I can't get PPP to work at all. The modem dials and does all the clicking and whistling but then it pauses for about a minute and then disconnects. WHY??? I have tried all the PPP options (Alternitive, Manual, UNIX, etc) and nothing seems to work. AND I have used the terminal window.

some ISPS Sersers just won't talk to Unix or BEOS at all, I have a Tesconet Account for windows and a freeserve account for use under linux and BEOS.
