Fun in the Grand

Post 1

loud

Also, a fantastic place to scuba dive - if you don't mind being a tad bit chilly (divers who don't like getting chilly shouldn't try and dive in Canada and therefore are warm water wimps!).

The Grand is also the home of the second friendliest bass (fish) in the world.

(The friendliest Bass are in Bala, Ontario, but that is another entry)

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!"

Our bit of the Grand is wide and shallow, with a sandy bottom (mostly); so, in the heat of summer, it's as warm as a backyard pool. As a kid, I practically lived in it. My friends and I used dive from a rope swing, hung from a willow limb, into water just deep enough to give use reasonable prospects of not breaking our necks. At that time, it was illegal to swim in the Grand - in Brantford, at least - presumably because of the pollution.
