Here in Texas, we have friends originally from Kansas and we always laugh about the stories regarding the creationists there, and their efforts to get creationsism into the schools.
Now we have a Texas lawmaker who wants Bible classes in the highschools:

OK, the Bible as literature is a valid subject (better as part of a great books course IMHO), but so is the Koran. I'd love to see how a bill forcing a class on the Koran would be received in the Texas legislature.
