Other puppets I remember from growing up include:-
Tinga and Tucker, two koala bears who had their own show, helped,I think,by Jean Morton. The show also featured Kiki Kangaroo,Katie Kookaburra and,my personal favourite,Willie Wombat.
The 5 o'clock club with Muriel Young used to include a dog - Fred Barker - and a (schoolboy)cap wearing owl named Ollie Beak. Both were glove puppets "operated" by the late Wally Whyton.
One more recent puppet worhty of inclusion has to br Spit the dog of Tiswas fame. There were times when he seemed to "out punk" even the Sex Pistols thanks to Bob Carolgees.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
