I like to use a candy cane to stir my cocoa (and then usually end up finishing with a spoon when the candy cane snaps)--or else just heat the water much hotter than I can stand to drink anything (a full boil works nicely) and break up a candy cane and let it dissolve while it cools a bit. Obviously I do this around Christmastime, or after stripping the 
when there's a couple dozen of the silly things lying around...
