Hi. You mentioned in the article that the Bonnie was a modified Thunderbird. I am pretty sure it was a twin carb model of the T110 (Tiger)which in turn was a modified (alloy head, cams etc)Thunderbird. I recall back then, if you had a T110 you could also by a factory twin carb manifold to give you a pseudo Bonnie.
I have had for the past 31 years a 1971 Bonnie which was the first of the five speeds. I bought it new for $1200 Australian. It was sold here as the 1972 model with the four gallon tank. It was one of the BSA/Triumph running gear hybrids of the time. A lovely bike to ride but no where near the style of the pre 1970 models.

hay, you don't happen to know where i could get my hands on a good T140 do you? i have been looking for some time, and i can't seem to find one for sale.
