But what if the person you are trying to avoid likes you?

I'm at school, and a friend of my boyfriend keeps pestering me constantly. He won't ever get the hint and leave, either! I can't be TOO mean to him, since he is my boyfriend's friend, but I have made it absolutely clear that I don't like him and I want him to leave! 
How does one deal with a situation such as this?
