There is a train that will take you from NY to Mass but i'm not sure where it would pick up in NY, but you would come into South Station in downtown, Boston. I don't know how long it takes to from there to here either, I know the bus takes about three hours. smiley - smiley

I'm not sure how much the train costs, the bus is around $20. To put the smilies put a colon then a hyphen the a close apostraphy, that should do it. smiley - winkeye

I don't know about Greyhound being the best but they are the cheapest. I had a terrible experience on one, while trying to come home from California.

It's not that bad if your only going from Boston to New York, but don't every take it across country. The ride itself is about three hours and usually you can sleep through the ride. Godd luck smiley - winkeye

This experience was too awful to share? As a foreigner, I always thought Greyhound was supposed to be good for cheap travel. I haven't tried it yet as I haven't managed to get to the States.

Well the story is I took the bus from Boston to California without any problem but when coming home I almost commited murder.

I got on the bus in San Diego and took it to Las Angels, when I got to L.A. Greyhound lost my luggage. I could deal with that (the ride was only supposed to be three days). From L.A. we had to go to Colorado and change buses, no problem.

After we left Colorado we were going to Ohio this is were we had problems. I had a conecting bus to meet in Cincinatti and we missed that bus so they put us on another bus going to Pennsylvania, (I was supposed to be going to New York). When we got to Pennsylvainia they were not going to let me on the bus because my ticket said I was in New York, I was tired, hungry and needed a cigarette (I also had no money since I left Cali.) so I lost my temper and told the bus driver if I did not get to New York I was going to kill him (if I could get to N.Y. I could call home and have my brother come get me). After I told the driver I would kill him he called the cops, and I explained why I was in Penn and not in N.Y., but the time all this got squared away my bus left. I had to wait 6 hours for the next one to N.Y.

On the ride to N.Y. I had some very creepy guy literally drooling on my shoulder the whole ride. I got to N.Y. and got on the first bus I saw coming to Mass. I got off at South Station in Boston, and went upstair to luggage claim to see if my luggage made it back and was told it was in Louisianna. (Everything I owned).

Three days later I get a call from Greyhound saying they found my stuff and it was in N.Y. and asked me to come and get it. I explained that I was in Boston and my stuff should be here with me. I ended up having to drive to N.Y. to get it because they wouldn't put it on a bus coming that way.

(I was planning on moving to Cali. so thats why I had no money and all my stuff with me on the trip.)

So that was my nightmare on greyhound a trip that should have taken 3 days ended up taking almost 5 then another 3 days later my luggage shows up.
