, very interesting. I nearly ended up in the Gambia ages back, my partner was a doctor of Tropical Medicine & wanted to do a research project there, unfortunately it didn't get funded...
I can't remember what the disease he wanted to study was, it may have been "river blindness"; do you have any idea what the local nasties are there? (I assume malaria, as with most of Africa)

I'm going to write a travellers' Entry for The Gambia, going into more detail about diseases, transport and so on. I've still got a couple to go before I get there, because I don't want to cover things in great detail twice, so it makes sense to do that one last. I'm being held up by the other Entry at the moment, though...
