A Conversation for Bus-Stop Logic

Usually I expect the links to other entries to have been referenced somewhere within the entry itself - that way you can usually appreciate the relevance of the reference.

With this entry the links to entries on propositional logic, completeness, consistency and the liar's paradox, while clearly to do with 'logic', have nothing to do with this entry, and unsurprisingly have no 'reference' in the body of the entry.

I like the entry though smiley - biggrin and also liked the bus stop pontoon entry.

If you look at the test version of the page - test1941554 - scroll dowm to the bottom and you'll see a section of .

That's how it's done.

I suppose the point I was trying to make is that if there is to be a link to another entry then the author/editor should indicate in the entry why someone might want to try that link.

Maybe I'm being picky in this case, as the other links have titles that might by themselves be interesting to researchers reading this entry.

Nevertheless sometimes the title is less helpful, and if an entry is important/relevant enough to link to, it should be important enough to mention/justify in the entry.

Well, I'm fairly sure that they weren't in Yael's original entry, so they must have been added by the Eds. Sometimes references jsut get and in because they seem to fit in some way to the entry, and as this entry has Logic in the title, those other logical entries got added in.

Oh well.

I was surprised by this in other entries in the past, and was told by an italic that there was no requirement for the links to refer to anything specific in the text.

Alright, I guess it's time for the (proud) author's note...
The references were mine, and were originally like that. The point is that they aren't really relevant to the entry itself, but they are related to the general subject. I got the idea from some note in Peer Review, and did it like this because I didn't know how to connect the text to it.
I don't think it's that bad... it's just some extra information, in case somebody wants to expand their horizons. smiley - smiley

Fair enough Yael. It was just being picky - the kind of thing I had in mind was what I put at the end of my entry on Superellipses A1053884 - just a note so that researchers who are wanting to expand their horizons at least know in what direction they are going.smiley - smiley

Fair enough Pimms. I guess I should have done something of that sort, but after all, this *was* my first entry... I'll know better next time. smiley - biggrin
Cool article, by the way... though the math was a bit lost on me.
