Well that's just great - one more person encouraging the lethal sport of cycling, not, I hasten to add, for the critters riding the bikes, oh no... cycling in Oxford is lethal to one group of persons only - PEDESTRIANS.
It appears that most people who choose to ride bikes in Oxford (admittedly students) do not know the Highway Code, or are completely oblivious to the fact that it applies to them as well. Whilst most pedestrians are content to take the risk of being hit by a bus when Jade Walking, we are afraid of those sadists on bikes; red lights mean nothing to them, signalling before mounting the pavement is deemed entirely unnecessary, and as for apologising when they have crushed various bones in your foot... I can only say HUH!
So I plead with anyone, tourist or otherwise coming to Oxford and seeking suitable transport, unless you enjoy torturing people PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, WALK (or learn the Highway Code)

Seconded.
Although when one hits you properly they at least fall off themselves. Plus if you are quick enough you can 'accidentally' stamp on their wheel and hopefully damage it.
