A Conversation for Metro - The Free Newspaper

There is a version available in Scotland. It has many of the same national and international stories (and same cartoon), but the sport section is slanted towards local events. In the Edinburgh Area, it is distributed on the early morning buses, as well as at the railway stations. There are also some people who stand on some of the busier street corners and hand it out (including to cars stopped at traffic lights).

I have to say, what a great wee paper - just enough to entertain you on the way to work, nothing too complicated, and a fair selection of quirky articles too to wake you up. I particularly like the letters page, which tends to be pretty fast moving day to day, and deals with down to earth problems, rather than the more weighty guff you get in The Times and the like. Top stuff, I hope it keeps going from strength to strength.

The one they call "Oi, get off my garden"

Hmmm... An employee of Metro perchance?
