A friend was once convinced that Marmite _must_ contain meat products, because otherwise there wuld be no point in Vegemite. I never asked him where Bovril came into the equation.

Bovril is purely meat... like liquified cows. You can taste the fur and everything.
As for vegemite, thats just the oz way of saying marmite. (i think). I tried some once and it isn't as good. It just has more vegetables.
Anyway, what is a MAR? and why do we MITE it? how do you MITE a VEGGIE (we all know what one of those is..)

I suppose a MAR could be a Ma - so Marmite therefore is made from mothers. I've no idea what's involved in the miting process, but it could be similar to smiting. After all, if struck by a bolt of lightening you might end up as a sticky gooey lump.
