Getting the last of the marmite out by chucking in a spoon or two of butter and stirring till the sides are coated...then a quick bzzt from the microwave...
Brings it all down to the bottom of the jar, let it cool and you there have your butter and marmite for the next slice of toast.. mmmmmmmmmm

That is interesting, to be sure.
But why do you have to have butter? And why not spread thickly? It may be an aquired taste, admittedly, but I think that thick Marmite with no butter on white ( I do agree there) crusty bread is just heavenly.

I don't have to have butter....but it is a good, and pretty easy way, to get the last little bit of marmite out of the jar....
I don't particularly like it thick-spread however, as then it's just too much like the stuff I use to make agar plates to feed bacteria (it's my job, what can I say) Butter does cut this effect a little bit....oh, nad there ain't nothing like butter on hot toast anyway...marmite or no!

Something to do with Candida- a yeast that occurs naturally in your body, but can get out of control. I think that I had been under it's influece most of my life, so I killed it with antibiotics or something and have been trying to make sure it doesn't come back. It's not contageous or anything, but it did make my throat close up a couple of times so it was time something had to be done. All helthy now though!
