'In Ancient Greece it was thought
that nothing diviner than a dolphin
had ever been created. It was thought they were once men, who had lived in cities, along with mortals, that they had exchanged the land for the sea,
taking the form of fishes, but that they had retained the righteous spirit of man, retained human thought, and could perform human deeds.
Because of this, the killing of a dolphin carried the penalty of death...A punishment which may yet be on the books.'
