A Fair Day for Christmas by mindchatham
'Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good night,'
Said the goody-good preacher,
At the church with might.
It was the evening,
Before the day,
That eyes would be sparkling,
Near and away.
They wake up that morning,
And rise out of bed,
The vision of happiness,
Is what fills their heads.
Though those too poor,
Or those too sad,
Might often think the precious,
Holidays bad.
And that's why, my friend,
This Christmas Eve,
We stand and pray,
And hope and believe.
