Yes you do - you score maternity pay, paternity leave, child benefits, other state benefits, tax credits et c, all paid for out of the taxes of we poor long-suffering buggers who aren't breeders... you can use the kids as an excuse to arrive later and get away earlier so some other poor sod has to pick up the slack of your work...
(Slightly peed off with that Guardian article this morning about productivity being increased if young mothers are allowed to take their offspring to work with them... on behalf of non-parents everywhere, can I scream a great big "NO!!!!!!!!!" to that?)
