Another interesting fact about sauerkraut is that it was invented by the Chinese & was used to feed the workers building the Great Wall. (Is there anything the Chinese DIDN'T invent? I mean, pasta, bagpipes, the accordian - not to mention gunpowder. But that's another conversation, isn't it?

German food is remarkably similar to chinese food in lots of ways: i have just eaten small meatballs that are also very common in Japan.
