Bwlch IS pronounced phonetically. It is pronounced phonetically in Welsh and oddly enough not in English, Chinese, Hindustani or any other language. Starnge that, for a Welsh place name....

True, true... I've never got the hang of Welsh phonetics though. Apart from the fairly modern Welsh words which are basically an English word with 'io' stuck on the end.
