I read somewhere that there is enough concrete in Hoover Dam to encirle the Earth at the equator with a sidewalk four feet wide!
Also, never confuse concrete with cement!! Cement is the stuff which holds concrete together! Learn it, live it!!

The Hoover Dam is a remarkable achievement and a potent symbol of burgeoning US power earlier this/last century. So much so that it's mere mention warrants a link at the h2g2 Historical Society.
