A Conversation for The Sharpe Novels by Bernard Cornwell
Sharpe's Neglect: poor little thing.

Poor little Antonia Sharpe. Her mother, Teresa, shot dead. Her father, Richard Sharpe, rushes across Spain just to hold her in his arms and then what? Nothing. He never bothers to find her? Apparently he eventually settles in Normandy - but never thinks to visit?
I suggest a follow-up series: Sharpe's Daughter. By around 1830 Antonia might start wandering through Europe to seek out her dad. Teresa's father will have told her his name, that he's a British soldier etc. Maybe she would end up in England, searching the taverns and asking at various barracks. Sharpe's Daughter's Mission might be a good episode to start with, and, once she finds her dad, Sharpes Showdown might conclude.
Am I the only person to care what happens to Antonia? I do grieve for her!

He does think about her from time to time, but his conscious decision was that since she had spent all her life with her Spanish family, and since he would still be in the Army, he decided it would be better to leave her where she was.
And I think it was hard on him - at least until he had his sons.
To be honest, I was more keen on having the Jane storyline totally wrapped up. I haven't given up hope!

by the way - welcome to h2g2!
I was going to go to your PS to say hi properly - but since you haven't been ACEd yet I think it's better to wait (otherwise you drop off the New Researcher's list and the ACEs might not find you)
Did you sign up to talk about Sharpe?

Not specially, it was just that I landed on a Sharpe page and then thought I'd add my comment/conversation. I'm still not sure how to manoeuvre myself around this site and I don't know how to look for things yet. I'm sure I'll pick it up as I blunder about.

the esiest thing is that you can click on people's names, which takes you to their Personal Space. Then you can read all about them, see where they're chatting etc.
Depending on which skin you're using, there should be a list of things on the left hand side: one of them brings you back to your space, one will show who is online and there should be one that lets you look around the edited guide.
And the h2g2 logo (which is the round thing) will take you to the front page. There are a load of links there.
If you write something in your personal space, people can start conversations there too. I suppose it depends what you want to do on the site...
