Who says that exams are only used between the ages of 5 and 25. Both my mother and my mother-in-law studied for some 'O' levels much later in life than that. And I'm in my 30's and have been studying for a Masters degree, the Post Graduate Diploma part of which required some long and difficult exams (Are there any other kind?) So spare a thought for all those adults who put themselves through evening classes, day release and Open University in an attempt to better themselves.

Don't forget the military! Here in
the U.S. the non-commissioned officers
are faced with exams(both mental
and physical...I think) in order to get
promoted; I'm not sure if this also applies
to the commissioned officers.
