A Conversation for 'Star Wars' - the Films
Planet Of The Apes

I think the Planet Of The Apes series of films were a big influence on Star Wars, especially if you look at the lunch boxes.
When I was at school, I had a bright red Empire Strikes Back lunch box, along with a matching thermos. But then one christmas, round at my aunt's house, I saw my cousin's old lunch box: a Planet of the Apes one. The resemblance was immediately striking. It had the head of an ape on it, and the general shape was extremely similar to a storm trooper or Darth Vader helmet.
I think this helped with the over all success of the Star Wars films. In fact I'm certain of it.

I quite like plnet of the apes, I bought the boxed set of the films, I think the first has a lot to say about the way the human race sees its self, or rather the way way we see other amimals, I often think that if you came face to face with say, a talking reasoning chicken how could yuo possibly defend yourself against battery hens etc.
the way the films come full circle is quite good too, I've never seen the Tv series though

I don't know why they remake some films, when the origional is definitive, will they one day remake star wars, or pulp fiction.....
I can't see anything wrong witht the first ape film the others could do with some reworking with the plots, planet and conquest i think are the best
