Who remembers the "Granny" who climbs on a wobbly chair, only to be replaced by a small burly man (possibly Bob Hoskins in an early role) wearing her wig and cardigain, who promptly throws himself through the glass-fronted china cabinet in slow motion...?

My favourite (probably because I hate children) was "JOHNNIE!!!!!", where a 12-year old Bay City Rollers fan climbs an electricity pylon to fetch his kite, and we are treated to a shot of his twitching legs with twin jets of sparks emitting from his flared trousers... Almost looked like a dummy with firework rockets strapped to its legs, but in my heart of hearts I rather hope it wasn't smiley - bigeyes

I worked for my local Cable TV company for a couple of years, and we had to use PIFs to fill in gaps in the schedule - they rejected my suggestion to have a "vote for your favourite PIF" slot, as they thought this would "trivialise" the "very serious" subject material. We still managed to show "Don't mix cross-ply and radial tyres on the same axle", for our own amusement, though smiley - bigeyes

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
