A Conversation for Tigers

Technoyokel (muse of poetry)

well I know one tiger song, by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. It's called Hunting Tigers and my favourite bits of the lyrics are " They bite they scratch they make an awful fuss, there's no use stroking them and saying puss puss puss". A useful piece of advice I think. Also of use when in tiger country are the lyrics "tigers don't go out on rainy nights, they don't need to whet their appetites".

Are there any other tiger songs (tiger feet doesn't count)?

"Bungalow Bill" by the Beatles has a tiger hunt.
A thematically complex song, it includes the - perhaps ironical - assertion that killing tigers is not a sinful practice based on the fact that they are fierce looking.

Well, it's not really a song, but there's William Blake's poem "The Tyger".

One of the problems with tiger songs is that "Tiger" is a difficult word when it comes to finding rhymes. Lion is much easier.

YAY for Tigers!!! smiley - smiley

Funny thing that this forum pops up again after so long... smiley - tongueout

The other night I was talking to my sweetie-poo via Instant Message(we live fairly close, and employ the phone, tete-a-tete, locker notes, e-mail, etc-- tis fun!!!!), and starting composing a song inspired by my best friend Susan. I had sent her a card that day with Tigers and Fishies(two of my favorite things) on it.

We both used to be tigers(we attended a high school where the mascot was the tiger)...

My song was about how tigers and fishies mean love!!! smiley - tongueout

If anyone's interested, I'll be happy to recreate what I can in this forum... smiley - tongueout

::flatters herself:: tee hee...

Actually, Duran Duran did an album called "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" but I think they were just trying to sound cool and mystic.
