I Love L.A.

© Randy Newman, I Love L.A.

A deeply unpleasant
and cynical song about Los Angeles, CA, that suggests that far too many
inhabitants of the City of Angels are actually rather stupid and venal. The City
Fathers so completely missed the point that they rang Mr Newman up and asked if they could
use it as the official anthem at some L.A. event or other, but they wouldn't
pay him because they were offering him such an honour. Which all rather
supports Mr Newman's original thesis about the stupidity and venality of the
place.

[Outraged Los Angelinos should complain here.]
