I'm very happy to see this article. As a Pittsburgher, though, I desperately wish to update and expand it. Am I allowed to submit revisions?

Sure. That's what we're all about.
You can either write your own Entry - which is probably the best route, if you want to write something substantial - and your new material will be added to the existing Entry when it is edited. Or you can post to this forum, then notify the Sub-editor that there is information you want to see included.
