Nice entry. It's been a long time since I did this, but you've inspired me to make Mr Padge's home-made rolls again very soon... Mrs Padge will be thrilled.
I can understand your reluctance to knead but surely you're obliged to do some serious pummelling when using the heavier wholemeal flours? Besides, that's half the fun!

It does indeed make me want to go and do some baking of the breadmaking variety once again.

No! No need to knead! Use hottish water and make a wet dough and you'll not need to knead. Honest. Give it a go and see.
