Thank you very much for charing your grandmothers story of "the forgotten war"
About five years ago I met an old man,Helmut Kirschey, in his 90ies who was one of last of the volunteer soldiers of the International Brigade (fighting for the Spanish Republic against Franco)in Sweden. Despite old age and failing health he never stopped fighting fascism, he visited schools, and spoke to young people intreseted in politics and history as much as he could. He has written a book "Memories of an anti-fascist" (A las barricadas)
He died in 2003.
