A Conversation for Right Handedness
How's this for odd?

I think I was born ambidexterous as I have a distinct memory of coloring with both hands. But then I fell and broke my collar bone (clavicle) on the left side and am now mostly right handed. However, I shoot pool left handed and shoot a gun (at paper targets only) left handed. Weird, huh?

I was born left-handed but made to use my right hand in school for writing. I've always been drawing/sketching with my left hand though.
When I got myself a Palm (hand held device) I discovered that the symbols for the letters are unlike real letters enough for my brain to consider them as a sort of doodling - so on my Palm I 'write' with my left hand.... but that's only on my Palm, otherwise I always use my right hand for writing

In elementary school, I was made to write with my right hand. Later, I was failed in penmanship because my handwriting was so awful. I was later written up after passing a penmanship class because I was told that I was 'cheating' by using my left hand.

(re: titania's post) That has to be one of the most interesting things i've ever heard. Quite extrordinary, really. I wonder if there's been any research on phenomena such as you're experiencing.

Time for an update...
A certain scientific magazine reported the results of a trial where right-handed computer users were asked to try using the mouse with their left hands for a few weeks. The idea was to stop them leaning to the right so much, and so balance the strain on their spines. At the end of the trial, some of the people liked it so much they decided to carry on mousing left handed while writing right-handed!
I've tried this myself (being very right-handed but suffering back problems) and it really worked for me. Totally confuses everyone who uses my PC since the mouse is on the left, but the buttons are the 'normal' right-handed way round.
Give it a try and see if it doesn't wake your right brain hemisphere up a bit too.
