There was a Belgian enquiry into his death - the Belgian state subsequently accepted that it had been involved in his assasination - about a year or so ago.
Some suggestion that the CIA were involved as well, but they haven't admitted responsibility...
A rather good film on his life and death was made - don't know if it also exists in English, as I saw it in French.
Incidental anecdote - Graham Greene's novel, the Heart of Darkness was based on the Congo during the Leopold period of colonisation.
