Someone who is hyper, can't stay still; to move like a squirrel.
This is widespread regional....it's used in small pockets all over the country, but seems to be becomming more popular.

I first heard the word in the late 80's. At that point, in the Northeastern US, it meant eccentric, odd. "You're getting kind of squirrelly about taking in stray cats" Indicates private, hidden hoarding behavior.

honestly i havent heard anyone say that in a LONG time, like 20 years ago. maybe its still popular in some places, but here its raiely used.
