When in New Orleans it will be easy to blend in because everybody from everywhere is here but you may wonder what the locals are talking about when hearing certain phrases:
If you want to go shopping for food you are "making groceries."
To go to your mom's house you will "pass by ya mamma's"
Be ready to be called "Dahlin'" or "honey" a lot.
When driving don't refer to the "speed limit" but rather the "speed suggestions".
Always remember that gold,green and purple go together famously.(These are the Mardi Gras colors)
And Reggie Jackson is the greatest players the Saints ever had even though he hasn't played a game yet.
