The opening scene is an 8 minute crane shot following various characters with no cuts. This is an homage to Hitchcock's 'Rope' which was a series of these 8 minute takes. 8 minutes is the maximum a standard film reel would hold at the time.
BTW during this sequence we see Buck Henry pitching "The Graduate II", too funny.

And speaking of Hitchcock....did you notice his Hitchcockian cameo appearance. In the party scene where (If I've remembered this right), Tim Robbins is coming downstairs as Jeff Goldblum is coming up. The wall is hung with photographs, one of which is of Hitchcock.
Apart from that, I loved the scene where Whoopi Goldberg is twirling the tampon....and, of course, the Andie/Malcolm McDowell bit.
