Cost of Living

Having visited Norway in 1998 for six weeks I would be wary of the cost of things in general. A bottle of beer at the disco was 100 Kroner which is about four times the cost here. Has that sitiuation changed in the last six years?

Hmmm... well, the beer is down to about 66 kroner in restaurants, but it varies. I've never heard od beer costing 100, though. Must've been a very expensive restaurant indeed.

It was the Olympics and even though everyone swore up and down that there was no inflation of prices I did notice a big difference between the Lillehammer/Govik area prices and Oslo. I had a beer in a student place in Oslo that was half that price, although it was draft there compared to Heineken.

Just a note almost completely off topic, but have you ever noticed the tilted *e*s in the name Heineken? They were designed to look happy!

Ah, yes, that explains a lot. I remember going to the olympics, everything was damned expensive, though I was certainly too young to buy beer anyway.

Hmmm, I've never noticed that. I shall have to check.
