In T1, the air-side choices depend on whether you're travelling international (Europe) or domestic. Apparently there is an Est Est Est (upmarket pizza and pasta) air-side (international) in T1 (according to BAA website - personally I almost always travel domestic from T1).
There are various Costas around the place. Notably in gate 4 (the main BA domestic departure lounge).
On the subject of book shops, there are Books etc airside in T2, T3 & T4. Also, in my experience, these shops DO offer '3 for 2' and all other Books etc offers. Also, you DO get sales prices (at least in Austin Reed).
Finally, if like me, you're into wine-porn, the two Berry Brothers & Rudd shops (airside in T3 & T4) can easily occupy you for a while.

You are quite right, of course.
I was noticing this week that the 3 for 2 offers on books are being done now, which is a welcome improvement.
I am thinking it may be worth giving this another week or so, and asking very nicely if we can update the entry.
