Tales From the Toy Box

Welcome good reader and let us once more enjoy
A tale from the Toy Box, fun for every girl and boy.
Clementine
Sitting in the very corner of the Toy Box
Feeling very alone and looking very blue
A small doll made all of rags
Gave a mighty sigh as she pondered what to do
For no one else in the Toy Box
Had remembered her special day
They had left all forlorn
When everyone else has slipped out to play
Clementine hunched herself further into the corner
And a wet tear ran down her nose
Why had everyone forsaken her?
She sighed again, hand on cheek in a very sorrowful pose
The she heard a nervous laugh
And looked up to see Wilson Brown-Bear
'Come with me Clementine,' he said
It's not good to be all alone in here.'
So into the playroom proper Wilson led the unhappy doll
And on his face there was a very secretive little grin
For a surprise birthday party the toys had all arranged
With food and drinks and funny hats, and lots of games to win
Sitting in the very corner of the Toy Box
Feeling very wonderful and content
A small doll made all of rags
Thought back on the happiest day she had ever spent
The End
As told to Greebo T. Cat
