A Conversation for Roundabouts
UK vs USA

There's also a very big difference in the reasons for placing a roundabout in various countries. In the UK, they are used to speed up traffic flow. In the USA, however, they are used to _slow down_ traffic. Hence, many roundabouts there are massive and full of flowers for people to look at whilst they try to remember how to use a roundabout. In Clearwater Beach, FLA, they are currently getting so excited about their new roundabout that one can even get a brochure about it!!! Their library was even demolished to make way for it! Mad. In France, of course, roundabouts are simply there to give car insurers a means of escape!
