The term FOD stands for Foreign Object Damage which refers to objects such as litter being ingested into an aircraft engine intake. This is a major concern to the integrity of the jet engine and is of particular relevance during an a/c taking off and landing. I have been priveliged enough to have made several journey's by air to and from Gib and I agree that the place is a unique and rewarding experience.
