h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I suggested the idea of a Writer's Meeting Place in response to a comment by Dmitri in his Writing Right column.

The idea was a place where people interested in the craft of writing could exchange ideas, questions and experiences. I tried starting such a thing as a conversation at the end of the Writing Right Archive A87087289, without much success. Does anyone else think this is a good idea and, if so, how would I go about making it known to others on the site?

I think it's a really great idea! But since the pliny links to this thread is broken (goes for all conversations off the Soap box page, hasn't been possible to fix, unfortunately) perhaps starting a conversation in the Misc Chat forum, directing people to the thread off the writing right page might work better?
