A Conversation for Led Zeppelin - the Albums

Saw them live.....

Saw them live, strewth, must be 30 years ago, at Earls Court in London. I was right at the back, but the bolted down seats were still shaking it was so loud ! . Remember the 20 minute drum solo and the big projected image of Plant.

These days the drama of rock music seems to have gone, which is sad. And i dont mean dressing up in costumes, ice hockey masks, etc, I mean the drama of dramatic music and sheer stage presence that Led Zed had.

I never saw them. I was 13 when they played Knebworth... I hadn't even heard of them at the time.

I've tried to make up for it, seeing Page and Plant five times, JPJ once and Robert Plant solo a couple of times. If the seperate parts of Led Zep could put on shows like those then I can only dream of what the four of them together could do.

Or watch the DVD for now.

.....I also saw The Jam around 30 years ago, in a small hall in a pub called The Winning Post, in outer London. Think Led Zep and The Jam were the two best bands I ever saw. Differnt sort of music, but still powerful in their own way.

There is only one person/band that I wish I had seen, but never did....and thats Jimi Hendrix. I know that a lot of people will say they wish they had seen Elvis, etc, but Hendrix was just so differnt to what had come before, and massivley influenced so many of those that followed
