But it works for me.

I run Windows Solitaire.
Hold down the Shift key with my little finger.
Hold down the Alt key with my thumb.
And I press 2 with my riug finger.

Aha! It has to be the "2" in the row of number keys - not the "2" in the numeric keypad on the right.

It might have something to do with the fact that I'm currently on a creaky old PC under an initial version of Windows 98. I know they tweaked Solitaire quite considerably under later versions and ME/NT.
