When we moved in together I agreed to cook if he did all the washing up. A fine and equitable division of labour.
Then he bought a dishwasher. Grrrrr......

Apparantly, the main cause of the break up between Isabella Rosellini and David Lynch was the fact that David Lynch wouldn't allow cooked meat in the house under any circumstances. Or so she said

Why would buying a dishwasher be bad? Isn't the reason you made the deal of you cooking and he washing up that neither of you would have to do both? Well, you still don't have to do the washing up, and all he has accomplished is that he hasn't have to do it either.
You could of course start cooking badly, in the hope he'll take the hint and starts cooking too...
